MOD SUPERFAST PIZZA

Brand Marketing Strategy

Reimagining a brand built around people.

Brand Strategy | Creative Direction | Integrated Marketing | Retail | Digital

MOD isn't just a pizza place. It's a people place.

In 2021, MOD had grown into a national brand with a loyal following and a distinct point of view—but its visual expression had become fragmented across the many places customers encountered it. The opportunity was to evolve the brand without losing the personality and optimism that made MOD feel like MOD. Working alongside Senior Creative Director Gabe Goldman, I helped lead a comprehensive brand audit and curation, agency partnership, and art direction for a new, more dynamic MOD brand system. The goal wasn't to reinvent MOD. The goal was to build a stronger foundation for where the brand was going next.

The Challenge

How do you evolve a beloved brand without removing what makes it human?

MOD had spent more than a decade building a brand around individuality, inclusivity, and the idea that everyone gets to make their own pizza—and their own experience. As the business continued to grow, that personality needed to translate more consistently across an increasingly complex ecosystem of touchpoints. We needed to create greater cohesion while preserving the spontaneity, warmth, and human quality that made MOD distinctive.

THE APPROACH

Audit. Curate. Systemize. Bring it to life.

I helped lead the brand audit and curation process, evaluating how MOD showed up across customer touchpoints and identifying opportunities to create greater consistency and flexibility.

Rather than treating the brand as a collection of fixed assets, we approached it as a dynamic visual system—one that could adapt to different audiences, environments, campaigns, and formats while still feeling unmistakably MOD.

My role spanned strategy, creative direction, agency collaboration, and art direction, working across both physical and digital expressions of the brand.

Building a more flexible brand language

We refined the visual ingredients that made MOD recognizable and developed a clearer framework for how they could work together.

The result was a system designed to move fluidly between:

PRINT
Marketing materials, promotional communications, and brand storytelling.

STORE DESIGN
Environmental expressions that brought the brand into the physical customer experience.

DIGITAL
Flexible creative for web and digital experiences.

OOH
Large-scale brand storytelling designed to work quickly and confidently in the real world.

FROM BRAND STRATEGY TO REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE

The most important part of the work wasn't creating a new set of brand assets.

It was creating a system that could actually work.

The brand needed to function across radically different contexts—from a small piece of printed communication to a large-format OOH execution to a physical restaurant environment to a digital experience.

That meant thinking beyond individual layouts and considering how the brand behaved across channels.

The work became a foundation for a broader MOD experience spanning print, store design, digital, and OOH.

ART DIRECTION

Making the system feel human.

A major part of my role was translating the strategic direction into creative expression and working closely with our agency partner, Headquarters, to shape how the new brand came to life.

I helped guide the visual direction, evaluate creative explorations, and ensure that the work retained MOD's personality while becoming more cohesive and intentional.

The resulting creative balanced structure with spontaneity—giving the brand enough consistency to feel recognizable, while leaving room for the unexpected.

THE RESULT

A more dynamic and adaptable MOD brand—one built to maintain its personality while scaling across the many places customers experience it.

The work established a stronger visual foundation for MOD's next chapter, creating greater cohesion across print, digital, OOH, and the restaurant environment while preserving the human spirit at the heart of the brand.

A brand that could grow without losing its soul.
