Ketubah Illustration

My dear friends, Jacob and Julia Isenberg got married in November 2023 and asked me to hand illustrate a ketubah for them. A ketubah is a wedding contract that Jewish law requires a groom to provide for his bride on their wedding day. I took special care to include symbolism that was important to their relationship and interests. They are avid cooks who enjoy seafood so I included some fish imagery in the pnw native american style, birds (groom was really into birds), psychedelic mushrooms, and the bride had a pet snake. Overall I wanted the vibe to feel like growth, renewal and a celebration of the outdoors that they love so much in the PNW.
